mātu lakṣmī kari kṛpā karo hṛdaya meṃ vāsa |
mano kāmanā siddha kara puravahu merī āsa ||
O Mother Lakshmi, please bestow your grace and reside in my heart. Fulfill my mental desires and complete my hopes.
siṃdhu sutā viṣṇupriye nata śira bāraṃbāra |
ṛddhi siddhi maṃgalaprade nata śira bāraṃbāra || ṭeka ||
O daughter of the ocean, beloved of Vishnu, I bow my head repeatedly. O bestower of prosperity, accomplishments, and auspiciousness, I bow my head repeatedly.
sindhu sutā maiṃ sumirauṃ tohī | jñāna buddhi vidyā do mohi ||
O daughter of the ocean, I remember you. Grant me knowledge, intelligence, and wisdom.
tuma samāna nahiṃ koī upakārī | saba vidhi purabahu āsa hamārī ||
There is no benefactor equal to you. Fulfill our hopes in every way.
jai jai jagata janani jagadambā | sabake tumahī ho svalambā ||
Victory, victory to the Mother of the world, Jagadamba. You alone are the support of everyone.
tuma hī ho ghaṭa ghaṭa ke vāsī | vinatī yahī hamārī khāsī ||
You alone reside in every heart. This is my special prayer to you.
jaga jananī jaya sindhu kumārī | dīnana kī tuma ho hitakārī ||
Victory to the mother of the world, daughter of the ocean. You are the benefactor of the destitute.
vinavauṃ nitya tumahiṃ mahārānī | kṛpā karau jaga janani bhavānī ||
I pray to you daily, O great queen. Bestow your grace, O mother of the world, Bhavani.
kehi vidhi stuti karauṃ tihārī | sudhi lījai aparādha bisārī ||
How should I sing your praises? Remember me and forget my offenses.
kṛpā dṛṣṭi citavo mama orī | jagata janani vinatī suna morī ||
Cast a glance of grace towards me. O mother of the world, listen to my prayer.
jñāna buddhi jaya sukha kī dātā | saṃkaṭa haro hamārī mātā ||
O giver of knowledge, intelligence, victory, and happiness, O Mother, remove our afflictions.
kṣīra siṃdhu jaba viṣṇu mathāyo | caudaha ratna siṃdhu meṃ pāyo ||
When Vishnu churned the milky ocean, fourteen gems were found in the ocean.
caudaha ratna meṃ tuma sukharāsī | sevā kiyo prabhuhiṃ bani dāsī ||
Among the fourteen gems, you are the mine of happiness. You became a servant and served the Lord.
jaba jaba janma jahāṃ prabhu līnhā | rūpa badala tahaṃ sevā kīnhā ||
Wherever and whenever the Lord took birth, you changed your form and served Him there.
svayaṃ viṣṇu jaba nara tanu dhārā | līnheu avadhapurī avatārā ||
When Vishnu Himself took a human form and incarnated in the city of Ayodhya...
taba tuma prakaṭa janakapura māhīṃ | sevā kiyo hṛdaya pulakāhīṃ ||
Then you manifested in Janakpur and served Him, your heart thrilled with joy.
apanāyo tohi antaryāmī | viśva vidita tribhuvana kī svāmī ||
The knower of hearts (Vishnu) adopted you, the globally renowned Lord of the three worlds.
tuma saba prabala śakti nahiṃ ānī | kaha~ taka mahimā kahauṃ bakhānī ||
Your great power is unparalleled. How far can I describe your glory?
mana krama vacana karai sevakāī | mana-icchita vāṃchita phala pāī ||
Whoever serves you with mind, deeds, and words, attains their desired fruits.
taji chala kapaṭa aura caturāī | pūjahiṃ vividha bhā~ti mana lāī ||
Abandoning deceit, fraud, and cleverness, those who worship you in various ways with a focused mind...
aura hāla maiṃ kahauṃ bujhāī | jo yaha pāṭha kare mana lāī ||
And I will explain another state: whoever recites this text with a focused mind...
tāko koī kaṣṭa na hoī | mana icchita phala pāvai phala soī ||
No distress will come to them, and they will attain the exact desired fruit.
trāhi-trāhi jaya duḥkha nivāriṇī | trividha tāpa bhava baṃdhana hāriṇi ||
Save me, save me, O destroyer of sorrows! Victory to the destroyer of the three types of miseries and worldly bonds!
jo yaha cālīsā paḍha़e aura paḍha़āve | ise dhyāna lagākara sune sunāvai ||
Whoever reads or makes others read this Chalisa, or listens or makes others listen to it attentively...
tāko koī na roga satāvai | putra ādi dhana sampatti pāvai ||
No disease will ever trouble them; they will attain children, wealth, and property.
putra hīna aura sampatti hīnā | andhā badhira koḍha़ī ati dīnā ||
Those who are sonless, devoid of wealth, blind, deaf, leprous, or extremely destitute...
vipra bolāya kai pāṭha karāvai | śaṃkā dila meṃ kabhī na lāvai ||
Should call a Brahmin and have this recited, never bringing any doubt into their heart.
pāṭha karāvai dina cālīsā | tā para kṛpā karaiṃ gaurīsā ||
If one has it recited for forty days, the Lord of Gauri (Shiva) will bestow grace upon them.
sukha sampatti bahuta sī pāvai | kamī nahīṃ kāhū kī āvai ||
They will attain immense happiness and wealth, and no shortage will ever come to them.
bāraha māsa karai jo pūjā | tehi sama dhanya aura nahiṃ dūjā ||
Whoever performs worship for twelve months, there is no one else as blessed as them.
pratidina pāṭha karai mana māhīṃ | una sama koī jaga meṃ nāhiṃ ||
Whoever recites it daily in their mind, there is no one like them in the world.
bahu vidhi kyā maiṃ karauṃ baḍa़āī | leya parīkṣā dhyāna lagāī ||
How much more can I praise you in various ways? Take a test by focusing your mind.
kari viśvāsa karaiṃ vrata nemā | hoya siddha upajai ura premā ||
Perform vows and rules with faith, it will become successful and love will arise in the heart.
jaya jaya jaya lakṣmī mahārānī | saba meṃ vyāpita jo guṇa khānī ||
Victory, victory, victory to the great queen Lakshmi, who is the mine of virtues pervading in all.
tumharo teja prabala jaga māhīṃ | tuma sama kou dayāla kahū~ nāhīṃ ||
Your radiance is powerful in the world; there is no one as merciful as you anywhere.
mohi anātha kī sudhi aba lījai | saṃkaṭa kāṭi bhakti mohi dīje ||
Now, please take care of me, an orphan. Remove my distress and grant me devotion.
bhūla cūka karī kṣamā hamārī | darśana dījai daśā nihārī ||
Forgive our mistakes and omissions. Give me your vision, observing my state.
bina daraśana vyākula adhikārī | tumahiṃ akṣata duḥkha sahate bhārī ||
Without your vision, this rightful one is restless. Remaining intact, I am bearing immense sorrow.
nahiṃ mohiṃ jñāna buddhi hai tana meṃ | saba jānata ho apane mana meṃ ||
There is no knowledge or intelligence in my body, but you know everything in your own mind.
rūpa caturbhuja karake dhāraṇa | kaṣṭa mora aba karahu nivāraṇa ||
Taking a four-armed form, please relieve my distress now.
kahi prakāra maiṃ karauṃ baḍa़āī | jñāna buddhi mohiṃ nahiṃ adhikāī ||
In what ways can I praise you? I do not have much knowledge and intelligence.
rāmadāsa aba kahai pukārī | karo dūra tuma vipati hamārī ||
Ramadas now calls out: Please remove our calamities.
trāhi trāhi duḥkha hāriṇī haro begi saba trāsa |
jayati jayati jaya lakṣmī karo śatruna kā nāśa ||
Save me, save me, O destroyer of sorrow, quickly remove all fears! Victory, victory, victory to Lakshmi, destroy the enemies!
