માતુ લક્ષ્મી કરિ કૃપા કરો હૃદય મેં વાસ ।
મનો કામના સિદ્ધ કર પુરવહુ મેરી આસ ॥
O Mother Lakshmi, please bestow your grace and reside in my heart. Fulfill my mental desires and complete my hopes.
સિંધુ સુતા વિષ્ણુપ્રિયે નત શિર બારંબાર ।
ઋદ્ધિ સિદ્ધિ મંગલપ્રદે નત શિર બારંબાર ॥ ટેક ॥
O daughter of the ocean, beloved of Vishnu, I bow my head repeatedly. O bestower of prosperity, accomplishments, and auspiciousness, I bow my head repeatedly.
સિન્ધુ સુતા મૈં સુમિરૌં તોહી । જ્ઞાન બુદ્ધિ વિદ્યા દો મોહિ ॥
O daughter of the ocean, I remember you. Grant me knowledge, intelligence, and wisdom.
તુમ સમાન નહિં કોઈ ઉપકારી । સબ વિધિ પુરબહુ આસ હમારી ॥
There is no benefactor equal to you. Fulfill our hopes in every way.
જૈ જૈ જગત જનનિ જગદમ્બા । સબકે તુમહી હો સ્વલમ્બા ॥
Victory, victory to the Mother of the world, Jagadamba. You alone are the support of everyone.
તુમ હી હો ઘટ ઘટ કે વાસી । વિનતી યહી હમારી ખાસી ॥
You alone reside in every heart. This is my special prayer to you.
જગ જનની જય સિન્ધુ કુમારી । દીનન કી તુમ હો હિતકારી ॥
Victory to the mother of the world, daughter of the ocean. You are the benefactor of the destitute.
વિનવૌં નિત્ય તુમહિં મહારાની । કૃપા કરૌ જગ જનનિ ભવાની ॥
I pray to you daily, O great queen. Bestow your grace, O mother of the world, Bhavani.
કેહિ વિધિ સ્તુતિ કરૌં તિહારી । સુધિ લીજૈ અપરાધ બિસારી ॥
How should I sing your praises? Remember me and forget my offenses.
કૃપા દૃષ્ટિ ચિતવો મમ ઓરી । જગત જનનિ વિનતી સુન મોરી ॥
Cast a glance of grace towards me. O mother of the world, listen to my prayer.
જ્ઞાન બુદ્ધિ જય સુખ કી દાતા । સંકટ હરો હમારી માતા ॥
O giver of knowledge, intelligence, victory, and happiness, O Mother, remove our afflictions.
ક્ષીર સિંધુ જબ વિષ્ણુ મથાયો । ચૌદહ રત્ન સિંધુ મેં પાયો ॥
When Vishnu churned the milky ocean, fourteen gems were found in the ocean.
ચૌદહ રત્ન મેં તુમ સુખરાસી । સેવા કિયો પ્રભુહિં બનિ દાસી ॥
Among the fourteen gems, you are the mine of happiness. You became a servant and served the Lord.
જબ જબ જન્મ જહાં પ્રભુ લીન્હા । રૂપ બદલ તહં સેવા કીન્હા ॥
Wherever and whenever the Lord took birth, you changed your form and served Him there.
સ્વયં વિષ્ણુ જબ નર તનુ ધારા । લીન્હેઉ અવધપુરી અવતારા ॥
When Vishnu Himself took a human form and incarnated in the city of Ayodhya...
તબ તુમ પ્રકટ જનકપુર માહીં । સેવા કિયો હૃદય પુલકાહીં ॥
Then you manifested in Janakpur and served Him, your heart thrilled with joy.
અપનાયો તોહિ અન્તર્યામી । વિશ્વ વિદિત ત્રિભુવન કી સ્વામી ॥
The knower of hearts (Vishnu) adopted you, the globally renowned Lord of the three worlds.
તુમ સબ પ્રબલ શક્તિ નહિં આની । કહઁ તક મહિમા કહૌં બખાની ॥
Your great power is unparalleled. How far can I describe your glory?
મન ક્રમ વચન કરૈ સેવકાઈ । મન-ઇચ્છિત વાંછિત ફલ પાઈ ॥
Whoever serves you with mind, deeds, and words, attains their desired fruits.
તજિ છલ કપટ ઔર ચતુરાઈ । પૂજહિં વિવિધ ભાઁતિ મન લાઈ ॥
Abandoning deceit, fraud, and cleverness, those who worship you in various ways with a focused mind...
ઔર હાલ મૈં કહૌં બુઝાઈ । જો યહ પાઠ કરે મન લાઈ ॥
And I will explain another state: whoever recites this text with a focused mind...
તાકો કોઈ કષ્ટ ન હોઈ । મન ઇચ્છિત ફલ પાવૈ ફલ સોઈ ॥
No distress will come to them, and they will attain the exact desired fruit.
ત્રાહિ-ત્રાહિ જય દુઃખ નિવારિણી । ત્રિવિધ તાપ ભવ બંધન હારિણિ ॥
Save me, save me, O destroyer of sorrows! Victory to the destroyer of the three types of miseries and worldly bonds!
જો યહ ચાલીસા પઢ़ે ઔર પઢ़ાવે । ઇસે ધ્યાન લગાકર સુને સુનાવૈ ॥
Whoever reads or makes others read this Chalisa, or listens or makes others listen to it attentively...
તાકો કોઈ ન રોગ સતાવૈ । પુત્ર આદિ ધન સમ્પત્તિ પાવૈ ॥
No disease will ever trouble them; they will attain children, wealth, and property.
પુત્ર હીન ઔર સમ્પત્તિ હીના । અન્ધા બધિર કોઢ़ી અતિ દીના ॥
Those who are sonless, devoid of wealth, blind, deaf, leprous, or extremely destitute...
વિપ્ર બોલાય કૈ પાઠ કરાવૈ । શંકા દિલ મેં કભી ન લાવૈ ॥
Should call a Brahmin and have this recited, never bringing any doubt into their heart.
પાઠ કરાવૈ દિન ચાલીસા । તા પર કૃપા કરૈં ગૌરીસા ॥
If one has it recited for forty days, the Lord of Gauri (Shiva) will bestow grace upon them.
સુખ સમ્પત્તિ બહુત સી પાવૈ । કમી નહીં કાહૂ કી આવૈ ॥
They will attain immense happiness and wealth, and no shortage will ever come to them.
બારહ માસ કરૈ જો પૂજા । તેહિ સમ ધન્ય ઔર નહિં દૂજા ॥
Whoever performs worship for twelve months, there is no one else as blessed as them.
પ્રતિદિન પાઠ કરૈ મન માહીં । ઉન સમ કોઈ જગ મેં નાહિં ॥
Whoever recites it daily in their mind, there is no one like them in the world.
બહુ વિધિ ક્યા મૈં કરૌં બડ़ાઈ । લેય પરીક્ષા ધ્યાન લગાઈ ॥
How much more can I praise you in various ways? Take a test by focusing your mind.
કરિ વિશ્વાસ કરૈં વ્રત નેમા । હોય સિદ્ધ ઉપજૈ ઉર પ્રેમા ॥
Perform vows and rules with faith, it will become successful and love will arise in the heart.
જય જય જય લક્ષ્મી મહારાની । સબ મેં વ્યાપિત જો ગુણ ખાની ॥
Victory, victory, victory to the great queen Lakshmi, who is the mine of virtues pervading in all.
તુમ્હરો તેજ પ્રબલ જગ માહીં । તુમ સમ કોઉ દયાલ કહૂઁ નાહીં ॥
Your radiance is powerful in the world; there is no one as merciful as you anywhere.
મોહિ અનાથ કી સુધિ અબ લીજૈ । સંકટ કાટિ ભક્તિ મોહિ દીજે ॥
Now, please take care of me, an orphan. Remove my distress and grant me devotion.
ભૂલ ચૂક કરી ક્ષમા હમારી । દર્શન દીજૈ દશા નિહારી ॥
Forgive our mistakes and omissions. Give me your vision, observing my state.
બિન દરશન વ્યાકુલ અધિકારી । તુમહિં અક્ષત દુઃખ સહતે ભારી ॥
Without your vision, this rightful one is restless. Remaining intact, I am bearing immense sorrow.
નહિં મોહિં જ્ઞાન બુદ્ધિ હૈ તન મેં । સબ જાનત હો અપને મન મેં ॥
There is no knowledge or intelligence in my body, but you know everything in your own mind.
રૂપ ચતુર્ભુજ કરકે ધારણ । કષ્ટ મોર અબ કરહુ નિવારણ ॥
Taking a four-armed form, please relieve my distress now.
કહિ પ્રકાર મૈં કરૌં બડ़ાઈ । જ્ઞાન બુદ્ધિ મોહિં નહિં અધિકાઈ ॥
In what ways can I praise you? I do not have much knowledge and intelligence.
રામદાસ અબ કહૈ પુકારી । કરો દૂર તુમ વિપતિ હમારી ॥
Ramadas now calls out: Please remove our calamities.
ત્રાહિ ત્રાહિ દુઃખ હારિણી હરો બેગિ સબ ત્રાસ ।
જયતિ જયતિ જય લક્ષ્મી કરો શત્રુન કા નાશ ॥
Save me, save me, O destroyer of sorrow, quickly remove all fears! Victory, victory, victory to Lakshmi, destroy the enemies!
રામદાસ ધરિ ધ્યાન નિત વિનય કરત કર જોર ।
માતુ લક્ષ્મી દાસ પર કરહુ દયા કી કોર ॥
