(Sri Karthaveeryarjuna Ashtottara Shatanamavali in Bengali)
Also known as shri karthaveeryarjuna ashtottara shatanamavali · shree karthaveeryarjuna ashtottara shatanamavali · karthaveeryarjuna ashtottara shatanamavali
A hundred and eight names of Kartavirya Arjuna, the thousand-armed Haihaya king, addressed here as a deity rather than as a figure in a story — which is what he became, on the strength of a boon from Dattatreya, in the traditions that invoke him for the recovery of lost or stolen property. The list opens on a long run of names beginning with ka, so that Kartaviryarjuna is followed by the desirous one, the giver of desires, the beautiful one, the doer of good, the cutter of stains, the one ornamented in gold, the one whose light equals a crore of suns. What is not in the list is the quarrel with Parashurama, which is how the Puranas remember him and which the two records sit on opposite sides of in this corpus.
