Samartha Ramdas

দাসবোধাংচী আরতী

(Dasabodhamci Arati in Bengali)

Also known as dasbodh aarti marathi · vedamtasammatica kavyasimdhu bharala

An arati to a book. What the lamps are turned for here is the Dasbodh itself, hailed as the famed king among texts, and the verses describe it as one would describe a place: an ocean of poetry filled with what Vedanta agrees to, a confluence made where scripture and treatise bear witness together, a water in which the great and the saintly have tasted their own experience, and an easy road laid for creatures that are dull and know nothing. The refrain turns the lamps for spotless knowledge told so that a child could follow it — which is the claim the Dasbodh makes for itself, that it says the highest things in ordinary Marathi.
