Goddess Durga

தேவைஃ க்ரு'தம் துர்காஸ்தோத்ரம்

(Devaih Krtam Durgastotram in Tamil)

From Shiva Purana

Also known as devaih kritam durga stotram · devaih krtam durgastotra · durge jaya jaya prajne jagadamba mahesvari

Five verses from the sixth chapter of the Parvati Khanda of the Shiva Purana's Rudra Samhita, spoken by the gods when they come before the Goddess. Almost the whole of the first two verses is built on one word. She is addressed as vowed to truth, devoted to truth, thrice true, truth-formed, standing in truth, well pleased by truth, the womb of truth, true of the true and truth-eyed, ten compounds on satya before the plea itself is made. What is asked for is her birth: having called her mother of the three worlds and the one who ends the sorrow of the gods, they ask her to become manifest and accomplish the work of the gods, saying that without her nothing in the three worlds has any beauty at all.
