Lord Hanuman

śrīhanumatstotram

(Srihanumatstotram in English (IAST))

Also known as hanumat stotram akshadirakshasaharam · srihanumatstotra · aksadiraksasaharam dasakanthadarpa

Eight verses, and after the first the whole of it is imperative — a string of commands with almost no praise laid between them. Look at me, look at me with pity by the falling of your glance; protect me, protect me from the heaped affliction of enemies; make the lords of the earth in all three worlds subject to me; give me, give me great land and fortune. Then: guard me from calamity everywhere, cut through my bonds, give me wealth always, kill off the evil diseases, drive away every enemy, bewitch the kings, destroy those who hate me. Only the opening verse describes rather than demands, and it names the deeds that are meant to earn the demands — destroyer of Aksha and the demons who came after him, uprooter of the ten-necked one's pride, and the one who swallowed the sun.
