భూమి-ర్ధేను-ర్ధరణీ లో॑కధా॒రిణీ । ఉ॒ధృతా॑-ఽసి వ॑రాహే॒ణ॒ కృ॒ష్ణే॒న శ॑త బా॒హునా । మృ॒త్తికే॑ హన॑ మే పా॒పం॒-యఁ॒న్మ॒యా దు॑ష్కృత॒-ఙ్కృతమ్ । మృ॒త్తికే᳚ బ్రహ్మ॑దత్తా॒-ఽసి॒ కా॒శ్యపే॑నాభి॒మన్త్రి॑తా । మృ॒త్తికే॑ దేహి॑ మే పు॒ష్టి॒-న్త్వ॒యి స॑ర్వ-మ్ప్ర॒తిష్ఠి॑తమ్ ॥ 1.39
మృ॒త్తికే᳚ ప్రతిష్ఠి॑తే స॒ర్వ॒-న్త॒న్మే ని॑ర్ణుద॒ మృత్తి॑కే । తయా॑ హ॒తేన॑ పాపే॒న॒ గ॒చ్ఛా॒మి ప॑రమా॒-ఙ్గతిమ్ ॥ 1.40 (తై. అర. 6.1.9)
O Earth, you are the bountiful celestial cow and the supporter of all beings in the world. You were uplifted from the primordial waters by the Lord in His Varaha (boar) form, who possesses infinite strength. O Mother Earth (Mrittike), please cleanse me of all the sins and misdeeds I have committed. O Earth, you are given by the Creator Brahma and were sanctified by the sage Kashyapa. O Earth, grant me nourishment and strength, for everything in this universe rests upon you. Everything in existence is established within you, O Earth; please wash away all my impurities. Through the removal of these sins by your grace, may I attain the highest state of liberation.
