శ్రీ లక్ష్మీనారాయణ జీ కీ ఆరతీ

The Hindi aarti sung to Lakshmi and Vishnu together rather than to either alone, which is what makes it a household aarti — it is the pair who are worshipped at the shrine of a home, and the refrain calls on both in the same breath: victory to Lakshmi-Narayana, victory to Lakshmi and Vishnu. The verses that follow work through his names — Madhava, Shripati — and hers, and then through the things the household is asking for, in the plain vocabulary an aarti uses rather than the Sanskrit of the stotras. It is sung standing at the end of worship with the lamp circling, most often on a Friday or at Diwali, and its short lines are built to be carried by a room rather than read.
