Goddess Bagalamukhi

śrī bagalāmukhī dhyānam

(Sri Bagalamukhi (Pitambari) Dhyanam in English (IAST))

Also known as shri bagalamukhi (pitambari) dhyanam · shree bagalamukhi (pitambari) dhyanam · bagalamukhi (pitambari) dhyanam

Three meditation verses on Bagalamukhi under her other name, Pitambari, the one clothed in yellow. The first seats her in the middle of the ocean of nectar on a jewelled altar under a pavilion of gems, a mallet in her hand and an enemy's tongue in the other. The second states the act the whole tradition of her turns on and does not soften it: taking the tongue in her left hand she torments the enemy, and strikes with the mace in her right. The third is the fullest — a golden seat, three eyes, yellow silk, a body the colour of gold, the moon for a crown, a garland of champaka, and in her hands the mallet, the noose, the thunderbolt and the cord — and it names her the paralyser of the three worlds.
