(Sri Dakshinamurthy Mantrarna Ashtottara Shatanamavali in Odia)
Also known as dakshinamurti mantrarna namavali · dakshinamurti 108 names namavali · mantrarna shatanamavali
The same hundred and eight names of Dakshinamurti set out for offering one by one, and read together they show the device the stotra keeps half hidden. The names are grouped by the syllables of his mantra and each group begins on the syllable it belongs to: four names on Om — lion of the mountain of Om, cuckoo in its garden, king of parrots in its nest, elephant in its thicket — then a run on na for the mountain king and his daughter, then a run on mo for the fire of delusion, its lotus and its darkness, then a run on bha for the devotees whose ocean of knowledge he cools. Recited in order, the litany spells the mantra out. It closes on names of the self: unaided happiness, the sea of one's own experience, the great mind at rest in its own garden.
