Lord Dakshinamurti

śrī dakṣiṇāmūrti pañcaratna stavam

(Sri Dakshinamurthy Pancharatna Stavam in English (IAST))

Also known as dakshinamurti pancharatna stotram · five gems dakshinamurti · dakshinamukham ashraye

Five verses, each ending on the same line — I take refuge in the south-facing one, the lord who gives me every accomplishment. The first has his lotus feet dancing on the head of the demon of forgetfulness, calls him practised in judging the hour at which a devotee's wish should ripen, and lotus-eyed, and the giver on earth of both enjoyment and release, worshipped by the lotus-born and by Achyuta. The second turns to those who have wasted themselves with hard austerity and vow for the sake of release, and to the sages of firm mind whose thought is fixed at his lotus feet, to whom he gives it. The closing verse says the hymn was made on earth by the speaker, calls it the great fire at the root of all the Agamas, and asks for children, wife, friends and wealth by the strength of his mercy.
