ଶ୍ରୀ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ମୀ ଅଷ୍ଟୋତ୍ତରଶତନାମ ସ୍ତୋତ୍ରମ୍ ୨

The hundred and eight names of Lakshmi in verse, and the version closest to the Sri Sukta of any in this collection — the second verse lifts its vocabulary almost directly from it. Shri, Lakshmi, Kamala, the goddess, the mother, Padma, dweller in the lotus, standing in the lotus, lotus-coloured, the lotus-woman, jewel in the lotus. Then: fond of the lotus, ever nourished, generous, garlanded with lotuses, gold-coloured, the doe, worthy of the arghya offering, the moon, made of gold — where hiranyavarna, harini and hiranmayi are the Sri Sukta's own words. The last line gives the two things the whole litany has been circling: destroyer of every enemy, giver of the fruit of everything wished for.
