श्री पुण्डरीकाक्ष स्तोत्रम्

(Sri Pundarikaksha Stotram)

From Varaha Purana

Also known as shri pundarikaksha stotram · shree pundarikaksha stotram · pundarikaksha stotram

Eight verses from the sixth chapter of the Varaha Purana, and the speaker is the reason to read them: the hymn is Varaha's own, so that one descent of Vishnu stands praising Vishnu. What he says is short and formal — salutation to the lotus-eyed, to the slayer of Madhu, to the lord of all the worlds, to the bearer of the fierce discus; the universal form, the long-armed, the giver of boons, all splendour; the lotus-eyed pervader who is knowledge and ignorance both; the giver of refuge and refuge itself, Vishnu the conqueror, the everlasting, dark as a rain cloud, discus in hand. Nothing in the eight verses acknowledges that the one praising and the one praised are the same.
