ശ്രീ ഉമാ അഷ്ടോത്തരശതനാമാവലീ

A hundred and eight names of Uma in the form used for offering, each standing alone between om and namah, and the list is arranged so that it travels. It opens on the names everyone knows — Uma, Katyayani, Gauri, Kali, Haimavati, Shiva, Bhavani, Rudrani — and then works through her relations: Daksha's daughter, the mountain's daughter, Menaka's own child, Skanda's mother. The middle turns to what she looks like and what she gives, lotus-eyed, essence of pity, forever young, giver of every kind of wealth, gladdener of the minds of the devoted. What is striking is where it ends. The last names leave the Puranic goddess altogether and finish in Shrividya — bearer of the great serpent, Tripurabhairavi, and, as the hundred and eighth, Tripurasundari.
