Lord Venkateswara

শ্ৰী ৱেঙ্কটেশ প্ৰাতঃ স্মৰণ

(Sri Venkatesha Pratah Smaranam (Sloka Trayam) in Assamese)

Also known as shri venkatesha pratah smaranam (sloka trayam) · shree venkatesha pratah smaranam (sloka trayam) · venkatesha pratah smaranam (sloka trayam)

Three verses for first waking, built on the standard prātaḥ-smaraṇa pattern in which each begins with the same word and a different verb — at dawn I remember, at dawn I worship, at dawn I bow. The first remembers Veṅkaṭeśa together with Ramā, with a slight smile and a face lovely as a lotus, the upright mark above a crown flashing with ruby light. The second worships the conch and discus lovely in his hands and the hand laid at the waist that gives safety to those who trust him. The third bows to the lotus feet, thick with bliss, rich with jewelled anklets, and to the hand held out showing that all these worlds, and Vaikuṇṭha too, belong to those who worship here. Its closing verse names what the recitation is set against — bad dreams, bad omens, unfounded fear, and wrong.
