Lord Shiva

śrī śiva stotram (devadānava kṛtam)

(Deva Danava Krita Shiva Stotram in English (IAST))

Also known as deva danava shiva stotram · namastubhyam virupaksha · gods and demons shiva stotram

A hymn the gods and the demons speak together, which is rare enough to be the point of it — the two sides that the Puranas otherwise keep opposed are here saying the same words. Salutation to you, Virupaksha, whose endless eyes look everywhere; salutation to the hand that holds the Pinaka, to the hand that holds the thunderbolt, to the archer. Salutation to the hand that holds the trident, to the hand that holds the staff, to the one with matted hair heavy on him; salutation to the lord of the three worlds, whose body is the whole host of beings. It works by the accumulation of hands and weapons and offices, and closes by gathering the whole range at once: to the archer and to the charioteer, to the ascetic and to the celibate.
