Goddess Durga

durgā sūktam

(Durga Suktam (with svaras) in English (IAST))

From Rigveda Khilani

The Durga Suktam is a powerful Vedic hymn originating from the Rigveda Khilani, dedicated to Goddess Durga, the embodiment of divine energy and protection. It invokes the deity as Agni-varna, the one shining like fire, who helps devotees transcend the insurmountable difficulties and sorrows of worldly existence. By praying to the Goddess, the seeker requests deliverance from all tribulations, much like a boat crossing a river. Reciting this sacred Suktam is believed to bestow immense courage, purify the mind, eliminate negative karmic influences, and provide spiritual armor against life's myriad challenges.
