ஶ்ரீ ஹநுமத்தாண்டவஸ்தோத்ரம்

Its meditation verse is entirely red — vermilion-coloured, dressed in red cloth, bright with red unguent, and a red tail — and the stotra that follows moves at the speed the title promises, in a galloping internally rhymed metre where every phrase chimes against the one before it. I worship the son of the wind, delight of the minds of good devotees, devourer of the form of the day-maker, protector of every devotee, accomplisher of Sugriva's business, obstructer of the enemy's side, goer to the far shore of the ocean. Its third verse holds the image the whole piece is arranged around: with his two long arms he set the two lords of Kosala upon his own two shoulders, there in the presence of the monkey king. The last verse dates itself in word-numerals and names the poet, a Bhatta called Lokeshvara.
