Lord Shiva

ശ്രീ മഹാന്യാസമ് - 7.8. അഷ്ടാങ്ഗ പ്രണാമഃ

(Ashtanga Pranamah in Malayalam)

From Taittiriya Samhita

The Ashtanga Pranamah is a profound devotional segment within the Sri Mahanyasam, derived from the Taittiriya Samhita of the Krishna Yajurveda. It involves performing prostration using eight limbs of the body, symbolizing the complete surrender of the ego to Lord Shiva. By invoking the Hiranyagarbha mantras, the practitioner seeks divine grace and spiritual purification. Chanting these verses helps in aligning the physical body and mental consciousness with the cosmic order, fostering humility, divine connection, and the removal of accumulated sins, ultimately leading the seeker toward inner liberation and profound meditative stability.
