मुक्तकमङ्गलम्

(Mukthaka Mangalam (Sri Manavala Mamunigal))

Manavala Mamunigal

Also known as muktaka mangalam · varavaramuni mangalam · srishailesha daya patram

A mangalasasanam — a hymn that wishes well to the Lord rather than asking anything of him — opening with the taniyan to Manavala Mamunigal and then blessing, one temple to a verse, the divine forms a Srivaishnava holds dearest: Ranganatha of Srirangam, on whose chest is the lac-mark of Lakshmi's feet; Srinivasa of Venkatam, treasure of the needy; Devaraja on the elephant hill at Kanchi; Sampatkumara of Yadavadri. It turns then to the teachers: Shathakopa at the root of the tamarind on the north bank of the Tamraparni, Goda the daughter of Vishnuchitta, Yatiraja born at Bhutapuri to Keshava Yajva and Kantimati, and all the acharyas of old who kept this practice of wishing the Lord well. The last verse asks perpetual auspiciousness for the author himself at Srirangam.
