ஶ்ரீ நவக்ரஹ கராவலம்ப ஸ்தோத்ரம்

Nine verses, one to each planet, and every one of them ends on the same request: give me the support of your hand. What makes it worth reading is that it does not flatter the difficult planets into being easy ones. Saturn is addressed as time itself, son of Chhaya, elder brother of Yama, cruel in his doings, maker of hardship and slow of gait — and then asked for his hand in the same breath. Rahu is the crusher of the full moon, demon-born, dreadful in his dress. Ketu is named outright as the tormentor of the sun and the moon, and then called giver of release. The benefics get their usual epithets, the Sun as root-power of the three worlds, Jupiter as knower of the end of the Veda, Venus as the poet and Lakshmi's brother. The closing verse gathers all nine by name and promises the reciter every desire.
