శ్రీ నవగ్రహ మఙ్గల స్తోత్రమ్

Nine verses that read less like praise than like a ritualist's reference table set to metre, each ending on the same wish, may he always make it auspicious. For every planet the verse gives its colour, its gotra, the fuel-stick used in its fire, the direction it faces and the quarter it occupies, the shape of the diagram it sits in, the country it rules, the signs it owns, which planets are its friends and which its enemies, the house-positions in which it does good, and the deity whose worship contents it. So Mercury is yellow, north-facing, of the Atri gotra, with apamarga for its stick, lord of Virgo and Gemini, master of Magadha, and satisfied by the worship of Vishnu; Saturn is black, west-facing, of the Kashyapa gotra, lord of Aquarius and Capricorn, rides a vulture, and gives long life. It is the most technical text in this cluster.
