Lord Krishna

ஶ்ரீ க்ரு'ஷ்ண கந்ஹையா கீ ஆரதீ

(Shree Krishna Kanhaiya Ki Aarti in Tamil)

Damodar

Also known as krishna kanhaiya ki aarti · krishna kanhaiya · arati srikrsna kanhaiyaki

The aarti of Krishna Kanhaiya, signed at the end by Damodar, and it takes the whole life in five verses. Born in the prison at Mathura and then playing in Yashoda's lap at Gokul; Nandlal, Natvar, Giridhari, and Haladhara's brother. The peacock crown and the yellow silk, a kachhani at the waist, the flute bright in the hand, and the full autumn moon put to shame by that face. Then the fourth verse, which is the best thing in it, sets his lives against one another without troubling to reconcile them: somewhere he mounts to battle and somewhere he runs from it; somewhere he is a king's own hand and somewhere he is grazing cows; somewhere he is lord of the sacrifice and the Veda is singing him — he who makes the world dance, and dances in Vraja.
