Nourisher of those who take shelter, suited to Rama's work, wearing a mesh of good qualities, the root of the demons' distress; smiling-faced and fair-cheeked, dressed in pale sandal-yellow. Friend of the sun's son, five-faced and three-eyed, who made a marvel out of a child's body, whose frame is the thunderbolt, victorious in every undertaking, the boat across the sea of becoming. Face outshining the moon; reaching Lanka by the mind alone; who sang out of Surasa's mouth; who took the measure of the pit that Sagara's sons dug. Its best image is kept for Ravana — the moon to that lotus, which is to say the thing that closes him.
