Lord Hanuman

śrī paṃcamukhī hanumāna jī kī āratī

(Shri Panchmukhi Hanuman Aarti in English (IAST))

Also known as sri panchmukhi hanuman aarti · shree panchmukhi hanuman aarti · panchmukhi hanuman aarti

The aarti of the five-faced Hanuman, and it does the one thing the Sanskrit texts of this group leave out: it puts each face in its own direction and dresses it in its own colour. The first looks east and is the monkey, in a red loincloth. The second looks west and is Garuda, in yellow. The third looks north and is the boar, in white. The fourth looks south and is Narasimha, in saffron. The fifth looks upward and is Hayagriva, in gold. Every one of the five carries the mace, and each is given its own work — settling the devotees' affairs, enchanting the gods, carrying off sorrow, wiping out every distress. It closes as these songs do, promising happiness and wealth in the house and the wish the singer came with.
