āratī vārata rādhikā nāgarī

(Shri Radhikanath Ki Aarti in English (IAST))

Kunjadas

Also known as sri radhikanath ki aarti · shree radhikanath ki aarti · radhikanath ki aarti

An aarti with the roles reversed: it is not the devotee who waves the lamp but Radhika herself, and the whole song is a list of what she uses in place of the usual implements. Her body is the golden tray and her ornaments the jewelled lamps; the strand of pearls at the lotus is the auspicious brightness; the girdle at her waist supplies the ring of bells; the jhalar and the conch are sounded; love is the parasol, the end of her sari the chamara, and her moving eyes do the rest. The flower-offering is feeling itself. Then her companions bring the many dishes and please the holder of the mountain. Its last couplet places the song exactly, saluting the purifying path of Vishnusvami and the feet of Shri Vallabha, and is signed by Kunjadas.
