श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता की आरती

(Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Aarti (Hindi))

Also known as arati sribhagavadgitaki

A Hindi arati to the Bhagavad Gita, addressed to the book, and it praises it by what it is made of and what it does. It is the speech of Vasudeva's own mouth and the queen of spiritual works; it was taught to Partha in the Mahabharata, on a battlefield, saluted there by gods and men and sages alike. The images come quickly and are mostly of clearing something away: it shows the true meaning of renunciation, drives off the sorrow of duality, makes a stream of the nectar of non-duality run, and is called the sweet essence of the Upanishads. One phrase in the second verse is worth pausing over, since it calls her the Sita of a ten-headed world of becoming — the faithful wife held captive by a demon that is existence itself.
