The other list of a hundred and eight names, from the sixteenth chapter of the Kalivilasa Tantra, and its frame states the difference outright: the Goddess asks for the names the other tantras have not given. What Ishvara recites is an acrostic. The names are grouped by their opening syllable and the groups spell the goddess's own name — first a long run in va, Vashini, Vashapujya, Valika, Vasuda, Vagvadini, Vidya, Vedarupa, Vedamata; then a long run in ga, Gandhini, Gayagangaprabha, Govardhani, Gokuleshvari, Golokavasini; then the la names, Lalajjihva and Lalatini. Vagala, spelled out in her own epithets, and the closing line says as much by calling them letters. The Rudrayamala list beside it is built the opposite way, by identifying her with other goddesses instead.
