శ్రీ మహావారాహీ పాదుకార్చనా
(Sri Mahavarahi Padukarcana in Telugu)
Also known as sri maha varahi sri padukarchana ashtottara shatanamavali · shri mahavarahi padukarcana · shree mahavarahi padukarcana
A litany of a particular kind: nothing here is addressed to the goddess directly, and every line worships her sandals. Each of the hundred and eight names is set between the root mantra and the same formula — I worship and I offer libation to the śrī pādukā of Vārāhī, of Bhadrāṇī, of Mohinī, of Śubhā, of Rundhinī, of Ghorā, of Śaṅkhinī, of Gadinī. The pādukā is the seat of the guru and of the deity in the Śrīvidyā rite, so a pādukārcana is the form worship takes when the practitioner will not presume to address the goddess herself, and the names arrive as titles of the sandal rather than of the wearer. It is signed in the colophon by the renunciate Jñānānandendra Sarasvatī, which is unusual for a nāmāvalī and dates it to a named teacher rather than to a tantra.
