ଶ୍ରୀ ମାତଙ୍ଗୀ ସ୍ତୋତ୍ରମ୍ (ଏକଜଟା କଲ୍ପଲତିକା)

Ten verses to Matangi from the Ekajata Kalpalatika, in the section on the Shaiva initiation, and the register is entirely bright: the giver of boons, fair of face, granter of every accomplishment, shining like a crore of suns, established in the form of fire. There is nothing of the cremation ground in it. What the middle verses claim for her is priority — she is called the one who came before Shiva and Vishnu and Virinchi and gave them their understanding, the accomplisher of what cannot be accomplished, the everlasting, whose own form is the supreme light. It is the shortest and plainest of the many Matangi hymns in this corpus, and the one that asks the reader to know least in advance.
