Lord Vishnu

śrī viṣṇu stotram (saṅkaṣṭanāśanam)

(Sri Sankashta Nashana Vishnu Stotram in English (IAST))

From Skanda Purana

Also known as shri sankashta nashana vishnu stotram · shree sankashta nashana vishnu stotram · sankashta nashana vishnu stotram

Six verses from the sixteenth chapter of the account of the month of Kartika in the Vaishnava section of the Skanda Purana, and Narada gives the situation before quoting them: seeing the demon coming back again, the gods with Indra among them, all of them shaking with fear, began to praise Vishnu. What they say is short and shaped by the emergency. Salutation to the one who in his many forms beginning with the Fish and the Tortoise is always quick to do what those devoted to him need, ender of distress, maker of creation and continuance and destruction from Brahma downward, whose hands hold mace and conch and lotus and discus; salutation to the thunderbolt that shatters the mountain of the gods' grief.
