ശ്രീ വാരാഹീ ദേവീ സ്തവമ്

A hymn whose meditation is written in seed-syllables rather than in pictures: she is described as the goddess made of the bhū-bīja shining between two aiṅkāras, before a single limb is mentioned. What follows names her by function in a way the other Vārāhī texts do not, as the one who paralyses and the one who makes the enemy yawn — stambhinī and jṛmbhiṇī, two of the six ritual acts — and then returns to the familiar image of the boar-faced goddess at the centre of her chariot, holding plough and pestle. Its third verse gives her the office that the Svapna Vārāhī text builds a whole hymn on: she is the lady of dreams, who makes the meaning of a dream understood. The composition alternates between the seed-syllable register and the plain one throughout, which is what distinguishes it from the ordinary stava.
