ಶ್ರೀ ವಾರಾಹೀ ದ್ವಾದಶನಾಮ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮ್

The twelve names, from the seventeenth chapter of the Lalitopākhyāna in the Brahmāṇḍa Purāṇa, spoken by Hayagrīva to Agastya — the sage addressed here as Ghaṭodbhava, born of the pot. The frame is a promise about economy: hear the twelve names of that goddess, at the mere hearing of which she will be pleased. They are Pañcamī, Daṇḍanāthā, Saṅketā, Samayeśvarī, Samayasaṅketā, Vārāhī, Potriṇī, Śivā, Vārtālī, Mahāsenā, Ājñācakreśvarī and Arighnī, and read in order they move from her rank in the goddess's council through her boar names to her command of the army and the wheel of command. The chapter closes by reporting that the gods standing in the clouds praised Saṅketā with exactly these names, and that she moved again to favour them. A litany of the same twelve is kept separately.
