(Sri Vishwaksena Ashtottara Shatanamavali in Odia)
Also known as shri vishwaksena ashtottara shatanamavali · shree vishwaksena ashtottara shatanamavali · vishwaksena ashtottara shatanamavali
A hundred and eight names of Vishvaksena, the commander of Vishnu's forces, who holds in the Shrivaishnava worship the place Ganesha holds elsewhere: the names say so plainly, calling him one to be worshipped at the beginning of every undertaking, the remover of every obstacle at all times and in all works, and one about whom the elephant-faced and the rest stand. What he chiefly is, in this list, is a deputy. He sets Madhava's command in motion; by Hari's will he does creation, continuance and dissolution; he governs the universe with a raised forefinger; he is named Vishnu's own substitute, and one whom Madhava obeys. A run in the middle turns to his appearance — the upright tilaka, compassion at the corner of the eye, a sword laid along the belt.
