śrī tripurasundarī pañcaratna stotram

(Tripura Sundari Pancharatna Stotram in English (IAST))

Adi Shankaracharya

Also known as tripura sundari pancharatna stotra · tripura sundari · tripura sundari mantra

Five verses given in the colophon to Shankaracharya, each ending on a refrain with an unusual word in it: you, at this present moment, O Devi Tripurasundari, I salute. The five move down from the face — dark curls, a moon-face, lips like new shoots, a nose bright as a champaka flower, cheeks lovely as mirrors — through the teeth whose brightness, like jasmine buds, outshines her own speech, to the thighs and the golden garment and the lotus feet made bright by the crowns of Indra and the gods. The last verse names her the mother of the elephant-faced one and joined to the body of Mrida, and says her feet stand in the heart of one called Kotishvara.
