અષ્ટલક્ષ્મી અષ્ટોત્તરશતનામાવલી
(Astalaksmi Astottarasatanamavali in Gujarati)
Also known as ashtalakshmi ashtottara shatanamavali · ashtalakshmi 108 names · eight lakshmis namavali
The hundred and eight names of the eight Lakshmis for offering, and its opening is worth noticing: the first three names — the revered mother, the great queen, mistress of the august throne — are the opening names of the Lalita Sahasranama, which is how this litany places Lakshmi in the line of the supreme goddess before it says anything about wealth. From there it turns to the churning of the ocean and to her Gajalakshmi form: worshipped by Airavata and his kind, sister of the elephants of the quarters, born together with Uchchaihshravas, wakened by the trumpeting of elephants, giver of empire. The last run is all lotus — dwelling in the lotus, lotus-footed, lotus-handed, lotus-faced, lotus-eyed, lotus-scented, mistress in the heart of the lotus-navelled one.
