Goddess Lakshmi

அஷ்டலக்ஷ்மீஸ்துதிஃ (ஸச்சிதாநந்த ஸ்வாமீஜீ க்ரு'த)

(Astalaksmistutih Saccidananda Svamiji Krta in Tamil)

Ganapati Sachchidananda Swami

Also known as ashtalakshmi stutih · ashtalakshmi stuti sachchidananda · eight lakshmis stuti

Eight verses, one to each of the eight Lakshmis, composed by Ganapati Sachchidananda Swami of the Datta Pitha, and built so plainly that the form of the set is visible at a glance: every verse names its goddess in its last line and salutes her. The first is Gajalakshmi — seated in the middle of the chariot, horses before her, wakened by the trumpeting of elephants, giver of empire. The second is Dhanalakshmi, and it begins by widening what wealth means: fire is wealth, wind is wealth, and wealth is the five elements; to her who joins together abundant lordship. The rest follow in order through Dhanya, Dhairya, Santana, Vijaya, Vidya and Adilakshmi, each with the same closing salutation.
