ଭୂତାଧିପସ୍ତୋତ୍ରମ୍

Eighteen verses to Ayyappa as Bhutadhipa, lord of the hosts of beings, built on a single repeating line — I worship Bhutadhipa, I worship the divine Bhutadhipa — so that the name itself becomes the rhythm of the recitation. Each verse turns the epithet a little: crusher of the enemies of the gods; well praised by the hosts of spirits; bowed to by Indra; extolled in many ways by the throngs of the devout. The last verse names him sole lord of all the worlds and giver of peace from the three afflictions. Recited for protection, for the quieting of Saturn's period, and against affliction of mind.
