ശ്രീ രാമ സ്തവഃ (ശമ്ഭു കൃതമ്)

Ten verses spoken by Shambhu, and the closing verse says what they are: a hundred names, uttered by Ishvara, to be read at sunrise by a man who has devotion. Each verse is a chain of epithets in one long rhyme ending on the same line — I worship you, lord of the world, in the shape of a man, the delight of the Raghus. What is notable in the chains is how freely they cross. Raghava the maker of compassion stands beside Madhava the sky-goer; the wearer of the forest garland and the bearer of the earth beside the husband of Tulasi, the killer of Madhu and the herdsman of Vraja. The Rama of this hymn is given Krishna's names without a word of apology.
