Lord Krishna

ଶ୍ରୀ କୃଷ୍ଣ ଶଯନ ଆରତୀ

(Shree Krishna Shayan Aarti in Odia)

Also known as krishna shayan aarti · saranagatadinadayaikapare parapaksatamonikarambuhare

The bedtime arati of the Pushtimarga, and the companion piece to the Krishna Arartika — the same chained metre in which each line begins from the syllables that closed the one before, the same opening word, and four verses instead of eight. It is assembled for the hour it belongs to. His own mother offers him the share that is his; his own mother wards the lamp before him; his fine eyes are unsteady and heavy now, bewildered with sleep; his feet are fondled by those overcome with rasa. Between those sit the sect's terms in shorthand — the child nourished within the heart, the fruit that is the hoard of gathered merit, the pushti that is his own, and the flood of rasa which the excellent Vallabha showed. The last line asks for nothing but attachment: let my love rest on the lord of the king of Vraja.
