The record carries two Hindi aratis to the nine planets, one after the other, and they are put together on different principles. The first gives a couplet to each planet in order and says what each is asked for: the Sun's brightness through a whole life, the Moon's coolness and its peace, Mars taking away everything inauspicious, Mercury bringing wealth and repute, learning from Jupiter, reasoning and science from Venus. Its line on Saturn is the best in it, calling him the judge, quite apart from the rest, to whom one gives recitation and austerity and faith. The second arati is arranged by direction instead: the Sun red in the middle of the diagram, Venus in the east, Mercury and the Moon at the north-east and south-east corners, Jupiter north, Mars south, and Rahu, Ketu and Saturn together in the west, dark-bodied and guarding the world.
