śrī khāṭū śyāma jī kī āratī

(Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Ki Aarti (Hindi Aarti) in English (IAST))

Also known as sri khatu shyam ji ki aarti (hindi aarti) · shree khatu shyam ji ki aarti (hindi aarti) · khatu shyam ji ki aarti (hindi aarti)

The aarti of Khatu Shyam, sung at the Rajasthani shrine where Barbarika is worshipped under that name, and almost all of it is furniture and offering rather than theology. A jewel-inlaid throne, the chamar waving above the head, a saffron robe on the body, earrings falling at the ears. A garland of flowers at the throat and a crown above it; incense thrown on the fire and the lamp-flame burning. Then what is actually served there — modak, kheer and churma heaped on a golden tray, and the servants offering it as their daily work. Then the noise of the place: jhanjh and katora and ghadiyaval, conch and mridanga sounding together while the devotees sing and raise the cry of victory. It is signed at the close by Alusingh.
