(Shri Krishna Govinda Hare Murari Bhajan in Odia)
Also known as sri krishna govinda hare murari bhajan · shree krishna govinda hare murari bhajan · krishna govinda hare murari bhajan
Two lines and nothing else — a bhajan made entirely of vocatives, with no petition in it anywhere and no sentence to speak of. Krishna, Govinda, Hari, Murari; lord, Narayana, Vasudeva. Then a second line that is a different string of the same kind: Achyuta, Keshava, Rama, Narayana, Krishna, Damodara, Vasudeva, Hari. Each name carries an act or a relation inside it — the one who never falls away, the one of the beautiful hair, the one bound at the waist with a rope, the son of Vasudeva, the one who takes away — so that the calling of them amounts to a short account of who he is. It is sung rather than read, and repeated for as long as the singing lasts; the repetition is the form, which is why the text itself is so short.
