Goddess Tripura Sundari

śrī bālā mantragarbhāṣṭakam (gupta mantra rahasya)

(Sri Bala Mantragarbha Ashtakam in English (IAST))

Also known as bala mantragarbha ashtakam · bala ashtakam hidden mantra · aimkara rupinim satyam

Eight verses with the mantra hidden inside them — which is what mantragarbha means, and the whole design of the piece. The first verse is built entirely on the syllable Aim: she whose form is Aim, who is truth, who is garlanded with the letter Aim, the goddess whose form is the seed Aim. The second moves to the next syllable and works the same way, on words beginning with va and ba — Vagbhava, pale as Varuni, giver of accomplishment in speech, fond of offerings, rich in boons. A reciter who does not know the mantra reads a straightforward hymn; one who does hears it being spelled out. The closing verse calls the eight greatly meritorious and says those who read them always with devotion go to the highest state.
