ஶ்ரீ தக்ஷிணாமூர்த்யஷ்டகம் ௩ (ந்ரு'ஸிம்ஹபாரதீ க்ரு'த)

Eight short verses in a light lyric metre, each ending on the vocative Dakshinamurti, and unusual among these hymns for asking rather than describing. The first asks him to give this person the nectar that the rest of the world finds hard to come by, addressing him as one under vow to protect those who bow. The second admits plainly that a heart caught in dull objects can neither praise nor bow properly, and asks instead for the grace that comes of his own nature, calling him the dweller on the bank beneath the banyan. The verses that follow ask for intelligence, for speech, and for the ending of delusion, and the closing one turns to the full description the shorter verses had left aside — the moon-cool body, the brow bright with a calmed Kama's glance, the form half of which is his consort's.
