శ్రీ దత్త ప్రబోధః

A waking-hymn by Vāsudevānanda Sarasvatī, addressed to a god who is asleep and framed entirely as the report of who is already waiting. The Ganges is asking for him so that he may bathe; at the place called Kurupura the siddhas have taken their stand at his rinsing-spot before the sun is up; on the bank of the Kṛṣṇā at Narasiṃhavāḍī the devout are holding the lamp-tray ready; and at Gandharvapura they have settled themselves believing he will come there to meditate. Then the sky is used as a clock — the daughter of heaven is driving the long-sleeping birds up, Aruṇa is drawing back the ochre cloth of the dawn, and the moon is losing the brightness it borrowed from your face. At the door, the poem says, stand Kārtavīrya Arjuna, Prahlāda, Yadu and the son of Madālasā. Rise, and show your face.
