ಶ್ರೀ ರವಿ ಸಪ್ತತಿ ರಹಸ್ಯನಾಮ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮ್

Seventy names of the Sun from the ninth chapter of the Kāśī Khaṇḍa of the Skanda Purāṇa, called secret names, given in eight verses and then followed by the exact rite they belong to. The names themselves are compact — Haṃsa, Bhānu, Sahasrāṃśu, Tapana, Vikartana, Viśvakarman, Mārtaṇḍa, Mihira, Lokacakṣus the eye of the world, Grahēśvara lord of the planets, Mandehāri the enemy of the demons of the twilight. Then the instruction: prefix Oṁ, put each name in the dative with a salutation, take a clean copper vessel in both hands, kneel, fill it with water, drop in karavīra flowers with red sandal, dūrvā shoots and unbroken rice, raise it to the crown of the head, and bow at each name at sunrise and at sunset. What is promised is unusually blunt — never poverty, and release from grievous disease without medicines, without physicians, and without any restriction of diet.
