(Sri Srinivasa Stuti (Skanda Puranam) in Assamese)
Also known as shri srinivasa stuti (skanda puranam) · shree srinivasa stuti (skanda puranam) · srinivasa stuti (skanda puranam)
Six verses to Venkateshvara from the Venkatachala Mahatmya of the Skanda Purana, whose colophon credits them to a brahmin named Padmanabha. Every verse closes on the same half-line, to you, Shrinivasa, salutation, and each fills the space above it with a different way of naming where he lives or what he is. He is the god of gods and the bearer of the Sharnga bow; he dwells on Narayana's hill and on the hill of Shesha, which are two names for the same rise of ground; he is the lord of the three worlds and the witness whose form is everything, saluted by Shiva and Brahma; he is lotus-eyed and lies on the ocean of milk; he is the lord of yogins, to be known through the Veda, and the destroyer of his devotees' sins. Short, formulaic, and meant to be said standing before the image.
