श्री वरदराज स्तोत्रम्

(Sri Varadaraja Stotram)

From Narada Purana

Also known as shri varadaraja stotram · shree varadaraja stotram · varadaraja stotram

Eight verses from the Narada Purana made almost entirely of names, and the names are local ones. He is the lord of the Tundira country and the dweller in Satyavrata, which are Kanchi's own names; the bridge across the Vegavati; the one called Yathoktakari, who did exactly as he was told; and the bearer and guardian of the sacrifice, which points to the rite out of whose fire he is said to have risen there. Around these stand the general titles — bearing the Shrivatsa, giver of good, remover of the threefold affliction, ocean of good qualities, maker of creation and continuance and withdrawal alike. The closing verse offers the four aims of life to those who read it or hear it with devotion.
