(Aditya Ashtottara Shatanamavali (Bhavishya Purana) in Odia)
Also known as aditya ashtottara shatanamavali · aditya 108 names bhavishya purana · surya ashtottara shatanamavali bhavishya
The Bhaviṣya Purāṇa's hundred and eight names of Āditya drawn out into a litany — and the colophon says exactly that, calling itself the nāmāvalī lifted from the Āditya Stotra rather than a hymn standing on its own. The two opening verses are kept from that source and set the occasion: the nine planets beginning with the Sun press on men hard and each in its own way, and it is to quiet that pressure that the names are to be heard. What follows names him as light and as physician together — Haṃsa, Heli, Dinanātha, Saptasapti, Karmasākṣin who witnesses every deed, Japākusumasaṅkāśa red as the hibiscus, Dhanvantari, and the destroyer of the skin afflictions dadru and kuṣṭha — and then names him as each of the nine planets in turn, so that the list ends where its preface began.
